How do you set up DMARC on Wix?

Updated July 3, 2026

To set up DMARC on Wix, open the Domains page in your Wix account, click the three-dot menu next to your domain, choose Manage DNS Records, and add a TXT record with host _dmarc and a value starting with v=DMARC1. This works for domains bought from Wix or pointing to Wix's nameservers.

What you need before starting

  • A Wix account where the domain's DNS is managed (domains connected to Wix via pointing keep their DNS at the original registrar)
  • A DMARC record value (generate one with our free DMARC generator if you don't have one yet)
  • Optional but recommended: SPF and DKIM already configured for your email provider

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open your domain's DNS records

Sign in to Wix and go to the Domains page in your account settings. Click the three-dot Show More icon next to your domain and select Manage DNS Records.

  2. 2

    Add a new TXT record

Scroll to the TXT (Text) section and click Add Record.

  3. 3

    Enter the DMARC record

In the Host Name field enter _dmarc (Wix appends your domain automatically; don't type the full _dmarc.yourdomain.com). Paste your DMARC record into the Value field.

    Host _dmarcType TXT
    v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected]; fo=1
  4. 4

    Save the record

Click Save. Wix DNS changes usually go live within minutes, though full propagation can take a few hours.

  5. 5

    Verify it's live

Run your domain through our free DMARC checker. If the record shows up and parses cleanly, you're done. The first aggregate reports typically arrive within 24-48 hours.

Check that it worked

Our free checker reads your DMARC record live and explains every tag. Run it after the record saves.

Common mistakes

Trying to edit DNS on a domain connected by pointing

If you connected an external domain to Wix using the pointing method, DNS stays at your registrar and Wix's Manage DNS Records option won't apply. Add the DMARC record at the registrar instead.

Adding a second DMARC record instead of editing the first

If you set up Google Workspace through Wix, some authentication records may already exist. Check the TXT section for an existing _dmarc record and edit it rather than duplicating it.

Confusing site settings with domain settings

DNS records live on the account-level Domains page, not inside the website editor or site dashboard. If you can't find Manage DNS Records, you're likely in the wrong panel.

Frequently asked questions

I connected my domain to Wix by pointing. Where does DMARC go?
At your registrar. Pointing only sends web traffic to Wix. DNS stays with the registrar, so the _dmarc TXT record is added there.
How long does a Wix DNS change take?
Usually minutes, but Wix advises allowing up to a few hours for full propagation. If it's not visible after that, re-check the host field.
Does DMARC cover email sent from my Wix site's contact forms?
Form notifications sent by Wix come from Wix's own domains, so your DMARC record doesn't affect them. DMARC covers mail sent from addresses at your domain, such as Google Workspace mailboxes.

The record is step one. The reports are the point

Publishing p=none starts a stream of XML reports about everyone sending as your domain. DMARCPath turns them into a plain-English dashboard and walks you to full protection at p=reject. One domain free.
